ASO’s cross-cutting teams provide an array of services and functions that keep the 170-person VPF organization running.
The human resources team oversees all HR functions for VPF and cultivates a culture of diversity, inclusion, and growth and development. It provides ongoing staff training, examines organizational structure, and works to enhance organizational effectiveness and development.
The communications team is charged with communicating VPF news, processes and policies, and general information to MIT and manages internal communications and messaging. The team produces the VPF Statement newsletter for MIT’s administrative and finance community, manages the VPF website, and creates materials for presentations, publications, and campus events.
The desktop support team keeps VPF running with computers, printers, servers, and other tools necessary to support effective work processes. The team provides system and software updates and works closely with MIT IS&T on policies and practices. It oversees staff IT training, including online data security training.
The finance and operations team collaborates with the ASO director on an extensive array of administrative activities, from managing VPF’s budget cost controls, spending, and financial reporting, overseeing space assignments and office renovations. The team provides reception services and administrative support for VPF and develops and implements safety and emergency protocols and training.
ASO is one of three directorates within VPF Headquarters—along with Financial Systems and Practice and Process Improvement (PPI)—that are charged with executing programs and services that support VPF operations.
