VPF’s Jodi Kessler named to IRS Advisory Council
Jodi Kessler, Assistant Director, Tax on the VPF Controllership team was appointed to the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC) in January.
Jodi will serve a three-year term on IRSAC which provides the IRS commissioner with feedback and recommendations across a wide spectrum of tax-related topics.
Citing her 13 years of experience in taxation in higher education, the IRS announcement noted Jodi’s accomplishments at MIT, including improving processes for reporting employee compensation, service and non-service scholarships and fellowships, independent contractors and foreign recipients, and producing training materials on reporting requirements for payments issued to U.S. tax residents and nonresidents.
Jodi was chosen from a large pool of applicants that includes tax professionals from large and small businesses, tax-exempt and government entities, and higher education. Jodi will represent colleges and universities during her term on the council.
