VPF Announces New TMC: Changes Coming to MIT Travel
After an extensive review of MIT's travel needs, incorporating stakeholders and input from across the Institute, MIT has awarded Blockskye a contract to be the Institute’s new travel management company (TMC).
Blockskye will provide professional travel agent services and an enhanced online booking experience through Concur. We will transition from our current provider, The Travel Collaborative, to Blockskye effective July 1, 2025.
We are working closely with Blockskye to make this transition as easy as possible for all travelers and to build a highly customized travel management system that fits MIT’s unique needs.
Additional Information and Resources
In the coming weeks, the Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF) will send a community-wide email with more details. To ensure a smooth transition, VPF will launch a dedicated web page with detailed information, action items, timelines, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), and other resources. VPF will also conduct a campus-wide roadshow and hold weekly office hours to support DLCIs and individual travelers, provide more information, and answer the community’s questions.
Action Item – Unused Tickets/Credits
One action item is worth noting early as you prepare for this transition. If you have any unused tickets/credits booked under The Travel Collaborative or booked in Concur, you must apply them to a new reservation by June 30, 2025. Unused tickets/credits will not transfer to Blockskye.
If you have any questions about transitioning to our new TMC, please email travel-help@mit.edu for assistance.
