Two Local Printers Join Roster of Preferred Suppliers
VPF Strategic Sourcing has added Journeyman Press and Highland Services, LLC as new Preferred Suppliers* for printing services.
Journeyman Press, a small business located in Newburyport, offers a full range of printing services—including offset and digital printing, with complete in-house bindery and finishing services and complete mailing and fulfillment services. As print color experts, Journeyman has achieved G7 Master printer status certification from IDEAlliance, an independent industry association that develops technical standards for printing. Journeyman Press is a member of the Allied Trades Council and the Teamsters Local 25.
Highland Services, LLC, a woman-owned business provides one-source print services, working with a variety of small and larger offset presses and multiple-format digital presses. Highland can create customized fulfillment programs and services including assembly, kitting, custom labeling and personalization, inventory control, warehousing, and pick-and-pack services. Highland Services is based in Scituate.
Journeyman and Highland join the VPF roster of Preferred printers — Fenway Communications Group in Boston, a small business founded in 1999, and Puritan Capital in Hollis, New Hampshire, a veteran-owned small business, founded in 1976.
All four printers serve higher education and non-profits and maintain a commitment to sustainability. Specific sustainability features include:
- Soy-based inks
- Full lines of recycled house stocks for digital printing
- Electronic proofing (when possible)
- Efficient digital printing for short-run projects
- Local sourcing and procurement of printing supplies
- 100% computer-to-plate processing
- Chemical recycling with a chemical distiller
- Recycling for printing plates and paper
- Energy-efficient lighting and machinery
