Cost sharing is the portion of a project or program cost that is not reimbursed by the sponsor. In a proposal or an award, cost sharing represents a commitment by the Institute. Submit cost sharing information to RAS

Cost Sharing information is submitted by the DLCI via a completed cost sharing template to RAS and is uploaded to KC. Access cost sharing templates and detailed instructions on how to complete the template.

Funding entries are posted by Sponsored Accounting

Sponsored Accounting is responsible for posting journal voucher funding entries per the information in the cost sharing section in KC. Sponsored Accounting records revenue for cost sharing accounts by transferring the budgeted amounts from provided source accounts listed in KC to the cost sharing WBS via JV using GL’s 800702 and 800701. Information (type, project period, source account) in KC must be complete.

Review/update as necessary

Cost sharing information in KC should be reviewed annually by the DLCI and updated as needed to reflect actual expenses, through submission of a revised cost sharing template to RAS.
