As we approach the end of the year, remember to review key gift recording dates and deadlines to ensure calendar year-end gifts are recorded and credited in 2025. This is important to fulfill the intent of donors who wish to make tax-deductible gifts for this year. Please note that deadlines and the submission process can vary based on the type of gift and how it is transmitted.

The Office of the Recording Secretary (RSO) and the Alumni Association Advancement Services teams are currently working a hybrid schedule. We receive mail from USPS and campus mail (which is delivered by MIT Mail Services) and deliveries from UPS and FedEx in secure mailboxes at the front and back entrances of W98. Members of our staff are in W98 on a regular (but not daily) schedule to collect the mail and deposit checks.

DLCIs and donors should expect a delay in check processing times due to delays in the USPS mail that are outside the control of MIT.
