In the event of a car accident, take these steps to report it to the car rental agency and to MIT.
File a report with local law enforcement and car rental agency

If you are involved in an accident with your rental car, contact local law enforcement and the car rental agency immediately. Follow the instructions of officers and agents when reporting your accident. When returning your vehicle, complete an accident report with the car rental agency.

     

     

    Contact MIT Office of Insurance

    DO NOT PAY FOR ANY DAMAGES DIRECTLY. You should immediately refer all demands, claims, or requests for payment to the MIT Office of Insurance. Retain all documentation related to the accident.
