MIT is increasing its pay frequency for faculty, salaried staff, graduate students, and fellows—transitioning from a monthly to a semimonthly schedule in April 2018.

nextSource, the company administering the MITemps program will soon introduce Smart Track—a new tool to automate all of the processes related to the management of temporary workers hired through MITemps. Smart Track will replace the Talent and Acquisition Management System (TAMS) currently available through nextSource for time entry, approval, and reporting functions.
The new Smart Track system has a friendly user interface, is quicker than the current TAMS system, provides more robust reporting functionality and can be customized for MIT’s specific needs.
When MIT Police Captain Cheryl Vossmer served on the committee organizing the 2017 Collier Cornhole Tournament to raise money for the Officer Sean A. Collier Scholarship Fund, she needed to find a way to collect money—for t-shirt sales and silent auction bids by credit card. The stakes were high, as this was the fifth and final tournament and the goal was in reach—a scholarship to support one recruit a year to attend the Lowell Police Academy in Sean Collier’s name. Vossmer wanted to finish strong—that is, Collier Strong.

eCat/SciQuest has been shut down as of July 21, 2017. To access catalogs, please visit the new Buy-to-Pay (B2P) system at buying.mit.edu. All historical requisitions, POs, and invoices remain available through links on the Atlas Buying tab.
As of June 14, Airgas has resumed making deliveries to MIT and Lincoln Lab.
VPF’s Strategic Sourcing team is closely monitoring the situation, as the labor strike affecting Airgas has not been resolved.
