Sponsored Accounting provides services to ensure fulfillment of funding, posting, and reporting actions in compliance with contracts for all MIT sponsored research and other external collaborations.

Billing and Collection:

• Submit timely, accurate bills to sponsors
• Verify posting in the SAP financial system
• Ensure payments are received and allocated correctly

Financial Reporting:

Reporting is in compliance with contract specifications and includes all reports mandated by Federal sponsors.

Audit and Closeout:

Review of sponsored accounts is completed within 90 days of the expiration of each award. The audit and closeout process for Federal and Non-Federal awards is driven by Federal reporting requirements. This ensures compliance and effective award management.
