Supplier Definition
Approved Supplier: An Approved Supplier will meet MIT’s minimum business requirements in order to conduct business with MIT. The supplier will be evaluated to ensure reputation, proper insurance and financial stability. An Approved Supplier will conduct business in a professional manner and will be required to perform to mutually agreeable service levels. An Approved Supplier cannot be on the Federal Government’s Excluded Parties List.
Preferred Supplier: A Preferred Supplier meets all of the requirements of an Approved Supplier plus will have a contractual obligation to provide special pricing concessions to MIT and deliver the highest quality goods or services in order to generate optimum value. A Preferred Supplier may be featured on MIT’s online procurement system and will be given preference over an Approved Supplier for like goods and services.
Partner Supplier: A Partner Supplier meets all of the requirements of a Preferred Supplier and will operate in the best interest of MIT. A Partner Supplier should ensure that MIT will consistently receive optimal value and will conduct business openly, fairly, and pro-actively. Both parties will cooperate and communicate in a manner that is mutually beneficial and will strive to produce operational excellence through efficiencies, while exceeding both parties’ expectations in order to deliver a seamless experience to the greater MIT community. A Partner Supplier will be preferentially featured on MIT’s online procurement system and will be considered over a Preferred Supplier for like goods and services.
