Selection process
A cross-functional team of MIT employees,consumersled by the Procurement team, spent eight months evaluating express shipping vendors, from taxi services to multinational shipping companies. They collaborated with a corresponding team from Harvard to broaden the knowledge and experience around the table and to leverage greater bulk price breaks. Among the qualities that the team analyzed were expertise, service and support, pricing, technological capabilities, efficiency of infrastructure, and reliability.
