Before you book any hotels/accommodations, be sure to precisely identify the location(s) you will be visiting during your travel.

Maximize savings

We strongly encourage you to use MIT’s preferred hotels and take advantage of negotiated fares and discounts. If you choose to use other hotels/accommodations, you must maximize savings for the Institute. Use VPF's Supplier Search for an up-to-date list of preferred hotels. Choose Hotels/Accommodations in the Commodities drop-down menu.

Book through Concur or a preferred travel agency

Concur is MIT's online travel booking and expense reporting tool. Concur makes it easy to find the lowest available rates, track and report itineraries and expenses, and sign up for automatic travel alerts.You also can download travel apps to receive automatic itinerary alerts and view all your travel plans online.

If you want to work directly with the MIT preferred travel agency that is connected to MIT's Concur tool, call The Travel Collaborative (TTC) at 617-497-7400 for assistance. Call toll-free from North America, 1-844-445-3330; from all other locations, call 1-207-805-3340. You can take advantage of The Travel Collaborative Travel Leaders preferred rates at 33,000 hotels in 7,000 cities worldwide.

You can use OT&T Travel to take advantage of the ABC Hotel Program preferred rates at 42,000 hotels in 7,500 cites worldwide. Call 781-890-9000 from within Massachusetts, or 800-888-9264 outside of Massachusetts. After hours, or in an emergency, call 781-929-6699.

 

Booking hotels in Cambridge and Boston

If you are booking a hotel in Cambridge or Boston (for yourself or for guests to MIT for short stays), check this list of local hotels that offer special rates to MIT. This list has the 2017 negotiated rates at twelve local hotels, including three in Kendall Square, and is updated every January.

These rates are known as "transient rates", which means short stays for one or a few rooms. Call the main phone number listed under the hotel name on the left side of the form and request the MIT rate. Rates are subject to availability.

Please note these rates are not for booking blocks of rooms for events. If you need to book or hold rooms for an event, contact the account manager listed on right side of the form.
